My name is Duan Dewet van den Berg, born in Heilbron, Free State on the 1st of February 1989. I am the youngest of 3 siblings, my sister , Chariza(41), brother Leon(38) and myself (26). My dad, Leon is 61 and my mom, Rentia passed away about 3 and a half years ago. Since I can remember I was a very active child. Participating in every sport imagineable. I really excelled in Rugby and Cricket, throughout primary and high school, and made every age group provincial side in both sports. It’s been an exciting and busy year for me. I launched the Layman’s Lament just over a year ago with my first review being done on the very first Amateur Mr Olympia Africa. I had intentions of reviewing Body Beautiful SA 2014 as well but due to a family members wedding being on the same day I could not make it to what seemed like a great show. This year I decided to close out my year with the show. Let’s get started on the admin of things. Firstly I have to commend the BBSA committee for having the rules and criteria easily available for me to find online.
